Global Credit Rating is an African rating agency covering financial institutions, insurances, corporate and Structured Finance in several African countries. GCR operates under a hybrid model as rating reports are not publicly available.
GCR is registered with the South African Financial Services Board (“FSB”). GCR operates as a Rating Agency in terms of the Nigerian Investments and Securities Act.

Coverage: GCR covers 1) Financial Institutions: banks and non-bank financial institutions, 2) Insurance: short term insurance, assurance, reinsurance & healthcare , 3) Corporate and Public Sector Debt: corporates & industrial borrowers; property funds; parastatals, utilities, state governments & local authorities and 4) Structured Finance & Securitisation.
Availability of ratings and reports at website: While the list of rated entities is available and that press releases are published, rating reports and further information needs to be acquired (either as pay per document or via subscription).
